Oiva Toika is one of the big names in Finnish design. Oiva Toika's first glass bird designed for Iittala was completed in 1972. They express Toika's deep relationship with nature and her passion for blowing glass: each bird has its own personality and a unique object of art. The birds in the collection are handcrafted by mouth blowing at the Iittala glass factory. The collection shows a strong tradition of glassmaking, Toika's close cooperation with the glassmaster's team.
Uhuu is a large and slightly whimsical bird. Large orange eyes and thick eyebrows give the bird a wonder-looking look at the world. The elongated body is made of brown marbled glass.
