Here’s the newest member of Retro 51’s Antique Metalsmith series honoring the classic aircraft of WWII. The Vought F4U Corsair was the first American-made flyer to reach 400 miles per hour in level flight. Its distinctive features made it a favorite for outperforming the Japanese during World War II. The solid metal Corsair Tornado has acid etched “rivets” along the barrel; the body is printed with the plane’s markings and trimmed with gunmetal accents.
