The Oloid is an unusual spatial geometry discovered by polymath Paul Schatz (1898-1979). The geometry is derived from Schatz’s previous discovery of the inverted cube (see below). The form is conceived around two congruent circles, placed perpendicular to one another and with the centre of each intersected by the circumference of the other. The total surface area and mass is equal to a sphere. The mathematical perfection of the smooth marble is satisfying and soothing to touch, inviting contemplation of the sublime and universal or simply a desk toy.
Made by stone master craftspeople on the island of Romblon in the Philippines, buying this product supports the cultural projects of "Koberwitz 1924 Inc." mainly in the fields of agriculture, health and education.
