Studio Temp's creative trio draws inspiration from street art to offer a contemporary interpretation of Alessandro Mendini's Corkscrews. The graphics, imbued with the urban universe, reflect a personal imprint blending signage and data protection. In homage to the father of a designer radiologist, phosphorescent elements appear in the dark, creating a surprising juxtaposition of references and memories.
To mark the anniversary of the iconic corkscrews designed by Alessandro Mendini (30 years for Anna G. and around 10 years for Alessandro M.), Alessi has launched a creative exploration focusing on hybridisation, a recurrent theme in Mendini's work. Three talents from the fields of fashion, graphics and painting were asked to reinterpret the corkscrews – resulting in a stylistic and technological renewal. Arthur Arbesser, Studio Temp and Fulvia Mendini have therefore reinterpreted the two Alessi character objects with unexpected colours and innovative styles. Thanks to the use of AlkiPaper®, a new, plastic-like biocomposite material designed to have an ecologically responsible life cycle, the reinterpretation was not only aesthetic but also structural. This is how Arborea, Parade and Liquid were born.
