A goose by nature, a lady by temperament, Bernache carries the hushed grace of nineteenth-century salons. A delicate carriage of the head, the demure pose of a sitter: everything about her breathes propriety. But the migratory bird is never far, and keeps the call of the open sky deep in her gaze. On her tray, propriety turns to plumage.
